Overview

The faculty of Indigenous Medicine, University of Colombo extended the elective placement programs to overseas undergraduates in medical and allied health sciences to experience the Sri Lankan perspective of health in an atmosphere of academic excellence.

University of Colombo, being the number one higher education institute in Sri Lanka, achieves an excellent reputation in the world for research & innovation and teaching excellence since 1921.  The Faculty of Indigenous Medicine of the University of Colombo is the pioneer education institute in the Indigenous Medicine field. With the 93 years of history, the faculty is engaged with undergraduate and postgraduate training in Ayurveda medicine and Unani medicine. Clinical training placements of the medical degree programs and postgraduate degree programs are mainly conducted at the National Ayurveda teaching hospital, Colombo 08. We have joined hand in hand with the largest and leading Ayurveda hospital in Sri Lanka situated just opposite to the faculty premises.
