Inauguration Ceremony of Certificate Course in Yoga Therapy
The inauguration ceremony of the Certificate Course in Yoga Therapy -2024 June (3rd Intake) was successfully held on 15th June 2024 at the mini auditorium of the Faculty of Indigenous Medicine, University of Colombo. Senior Prof. (Chair) HD Karunaratne, the vice chancellor of the University of Colombo graced the ceremony as the chief guest. Prof. Ankuran Dutta, Director, Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, High Commission of India beautified the occasion as a special guest. This event was organized by the Department of Ayurveda Pharmacology, Pharmaceutics and Community Medicine. Special thank goes to Prof. Pathirage Kamal Perera, Dean of the Faculty for his guidance, Prof. SKMK Herapathdeniya, Head of the Dept. and Dr. WKBDS Fernando, Coordinator of the Certificate course in Yoga Therapy.
The objective of this course is to introduce Yoga to the public and its holistic approach to preventing and curing diseases. The chief guest and others expressed their views on the importance of generalizing this kind of course to the public in this stressful world.
