Guest Lecture – Building a Professional Identity: “How to Be a Brand in Ayurveda/Unani”

On February 02nd, 2026, the Indigenous Medical Education Unit (IMEU) of the Faculty of Indigenous Medicine, University of Colombo, successfully conducted a Guest Lecture titled “How to Be a Brand in Ayurveda/Unani” to enhance the professional development of BAMS and BUMS undergraduates. Facilitated by Mr. Amithe Gamage who is a globally known Personal Branding Strategist, CXO Coach, and Co-founder of “The Branded You” and Youth Entrepreneurship Advocate, the session provided 86 students with practical insights into personal branding, ethical entrepreneurship, and strategic career planning within the modern healthcare landscape. Guided by the Dean, Professor Pathirage Kamal Perera, and organized by the IMEU coordinator and academic staff members, the programme successfully empowered emerging practitioners to bridge traditional medical systems with contemporary market demands, fostering a stronger professional identity among future graduates.
