Celebration of the World Autism Awareness Day
World Autism Awareness Day is observed globally every year on 2nd April with the purpose to encourage member States of the United Nations to take measures to raise awareness about autistic individuals throughout the world.
Career Guidance Unit (CGU) of the Faculty of Indigenous Medicine, University of Colombo organized a special event with UG BAMS/BUMS students to observe World Autism Awareness Day with collaboration of the Department of Ayurveda Surgery, ENT, Ophthalmology and Gynecology, Obstetrics and Pediatrics and Unani Clinical Medicine at Ayurvedic National Hospital, Borella on 02nd of April 2024.The event aimed to provide awareness about Autism to public, health care professionals and uplift the right care for people with autistic needs and simplify their lives. Resurse pesons of the event are the Dr.W.A.S.S.Weerakoon (Senior Lecturer-Grade-I) and Dr.I.R..Leena (Senior Lecturer-Grade-I)
Event was successfully completed with the guidance of the Dean of faculty, Professor Pathirage Kamal Perera, Dr R.H.S.K. De Silva, Coordinator, CGU, FIM. and Dr. M.H.F.Haq (Senior Lecturer), Dr,Rangana Pradeep, Secretory, CGU,FIM. Event is coordinated by Dr R.L.Y.U. Rathnayaka and Dr. M. D. P. Ishara
