General Convocation 2023 – Faculty of Indigenous Medicine, University of Colombo
The Faculty of Indigenous Medicine of the University of Colombo, the premier seat of Indigenous medical education in the country and the highest-ranked university in Sri Lanka held its General Convocation for 2023 and 2024 graduates on October 04, 2024, at the Bandaranaike International Memorial Conference Hall.
The ceremony was a glamorous, well-attended and highly celebrated event which marked one of the most memorable days in the graduates’ lives and the parents to witness the graduation of their children as well.
The event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Indigenous Medicine, Prof. Pathirage Kamal Perera and many academics from the six Departments of the Faculty of Indigenous Medicine. Altogether, 345 undergraduates were awarded the Degree of Bachelor of Ayurveda Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) and Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS) at the ceremony related to the 2015/16 and 2016/17 academic years. Many awards, prizes and medals were also handed out to undergraduates who excelled at their studies during their five years of stay at the faculty.
