Undergraduate Pre internship programme for BAMS students of Faculty of Indigenous Medicine (FIM), University of Colombo – 2 nd Intake
Applications are open for the 2nd intake of Undergraduate Pre internship programme on wellness tourism for BAMS (2018/2019) students of Faculty of Indigenous Medicine (FIM), University of Colombo. This programm is based on the Memorandum of understanding signed with Karunakarala Ayurveda & Yoga Institute at Kamagaya-Shi, Chiba Ken, Japan and University of Colombo, Sri Lanka on “Promotion Ayurveda and Traditional Medicine in Sri Lanka throughout the Japan” on 11th August 2023. This MOU provide opportunity, FIM to obtain a short-term academic/practical training for FIM undergraduate students from Karunakarala Ayurveda Resort. Karunakarala Ayurveda Resort managed by same organization which industrialised wellness tourism through Ayurveda.
Objectives
To provide the opportunity to develop and apply the theoretical and practical knowledge obtained in the undergraduate program.
- To prepare students industry-ready so that they can start working with competence.
- To increase the sense of responsibility and good work habits.
- To build communication skills, client service skills.
- To build strength, teamwork and self-confidence.
- To develop good moral values such as responsibility, commitment and trustworthiness.
Method of applying
Interested students are requested to apply by submitting an application to the carrier guidance unit, Faculty of Indigenous Medicine, University of Colombo. Number of students for the training will be decided according to the facilities available.
