The Orientation program for new entrants of the BAMS and BUMS degree programs for the Academic Year 2023/2024

The Orientation program for new entrants of the Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) and Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS) degree programs for the Academic Year 2023/2024 Batch was ceremonially inaugurated on April 04, 2025, at the main Auditorium of the Faculty of Indigenous Medicine, University of Colombo. The event was graced by the presence of Senior Professor (Chair) H D Karunaratne, Vice Chancellor of the University of Colombo. Professor Pathirage Kamal Perera, the Dean of the Faculty, Heads of Departments, Academic, Administrative and non- academic staff members, the Senior student counsellors, and students attended the programme welcoming the new entrants. Participants were warmly welcomed by the Dean, Faculty of Indigenous Medicine, University of Colombo Prof.Pathirage Kamal Perera. Distinguished speakers, including the Chief-guest Senior Professor (Chair) H D Karunaratne, Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr Rajitha Silva, Senior StudentCounsellor of University of Colombo, Dr.W.A.S. Saroja Weerakoon . Permanent Student Counsellor, FIM, University of Colombo and President of Indigenous Medical Faculty Students’ Union (IMFSU) addressed the new entrants and the gathering emphasizing the dedication and commitment provided by University of Colombo and the Faculty to students, to pursue their higher educational qualifications. The event was coordinated by Dr.KNA Dharmasena and Dr.AFM Joonus.
