The Inauguration ceremony of the 10th International Conference on Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, and Traditional Medicine (iCAUST 2024)

The Inauguration ceremony of the 10th International Conference on Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, and Traditional Medicine (iCAUST 2024) was held on 09th August 2024 at Galle Town Hall, Sri Lanka. This conference is organized by the Faculty of Indigenous Medicine (IIM), University of Colombo and Department of Ayurveda, Ministry of Health, Southern Province, Sri Lanka.The event commenced with a grand traditional welcome by dancers and the ceremonial lighting of the oil lamp. Dr. H.P. Karunawathi, Commissioner of the Department of Ayurveda, Southern Province, delivered the welcome address, setting the tone for the proceedings.

Esteemed guests, including Secretary of Health for the Southern Province, and Senior Professor H.D. Karunaratne, Vice Chancellor of the University of Colombo, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the significance of traditional medicine in contemporary healthcare. There were 04 keynote speeches from eminent resource persons from India, UK and Bangladesh.

A highlight of the ceremony was the launch of the abstract book, which showcased the extensive research contributions to the conference. Professor Pathirage Kamal Perera, Dean of the Faculty of Indigenous Medicine and Chief Organizer of iCAUST 2024, proposed a formal vote of thanks. The ceremony concluded with the national anthem, marking the beginning of what promised to be an insightful and impactful conference.
