
The Sports Club was founded by the students of Faculty of Indigenous Medicine in 2024, under the esteemed guidance and distinguished patronage of Senior Professor (Chair) H.D. Karunarathne, Vice-Chancellor, University of Colombo and distinguished patronage of Professor Pathirage Kamal Perera, Dean, Faculty of Indigenous Medicine.
The Students’ Faculty Sports Club at the Faculty of Indigenous Medicine, University of Colombo, promotes physical well-being and camaraderie among students through a variety of sporting activities. It provides students with opportunities to participate in both recreational and competitive sports, fostering teamwork, leadership, and a balanced lifestyle alongside their academic commitments. The club also organizes events that encourage inter-faculty engagement, enhancing the overall student experience within the university community. Through regular training, competitions, and sports festivals, the club aims to cultivate a culture of health and wellness rooted in holistic approaches aligned with the faculty’s focus on enhancing the student” physical and mental well-being.
The Arts Circle was founded by the students of Faculty of Indigenous Medicine in 2024, under the esteemed guidance and distinguished patronage of Senior Professor (Chair) H.D. Karunarathne, Vice-Chancellor, University of Colombo; and distinguished patronage of Professor Pathirage Kamal Perera, Dean, Faculty of Indigenous Medicine. Founder Coordinator of the Arts Circle, Dr. P.A.N.G. Perera together with Dr. A.F.M. Joonus, currently represent the Faculty of Indigenous Medicine at the Arts Council, University of Colombo.
Art Circle of the Faculty of Indigenous Medicine is a vibrant community dedicated for exploring the intersections of art, culture and wellness. It is aimed to provide an opportunity to demonstrate and uplift the aesthetic skills of the students as well as their interests towards fine arts & performing arts; through multifaceted platforms such as arts, photography, musical & dancing programmes, cinema, theatre and other cultural activities.

The University of Colombo Ayurveda Clinical Society (UCACS) is launched on the 14th of August 2025 with its inaugural meeting hosted by Professor Pathirage Kamal Perera, Dean Faculty of Indigenous Medicine, and Creator of UCACS. The University of Colombo Ayurveda Clinical Society (UCACS) is a student-led organization operating under the Faculty of Indigenous Medicine at the University of Colombo. Guided by its motto, “Wisdom and Knowledge through Nature,” UCACS is dedicated to enriching the academic journey of students by providing unique opportunities to engage in research and elective clinical placements. The society serves as a platform to deepen students’ understanding of Ayurveda and traditional healing practices, fostering a holistic approach to medical education grounded in nature and heritage. The University of Colombo Ayurveda clinical society in the Faculty of Indigenous Medicine was approved by the 631st meeting of the council of the university held on 12.03.2025.
