Inauguration Ceremony of the New Lecture Theatre (New building - Stage I) of the Faculty of Indigenous Medicine, University of Colombo

The Inauguration Ceremony of the New Lecture Theatre was held on Wednesday 24 th May, 2023. Senior Professor (Chair) HD Karunaratne, Vice- Chancellor of the University of Colombo graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest on the invitation of Professor Pathirgae Kamal Perera, founder Dean of FIM. Senior Professor Chandana P Udawatha, Vice chairman UGC and Director AHEAD program operation – Ministry of education, number of invited dignitaries, academic staff, administrative staff and students participated at this event. Hon. Vice- Chancellor declared the opening of the New Lecture Theatre at 11.00 am. New building – Stage I of the Faculty of Indigenous Medicine, University of Colombo was built with the funding of AHEAD project grant. The new building consists of state-of-the-art lecture theater, undoubtedly creating a pleasant and conducive learning experience for more than 320 undergraduates The students of the FIM added a dash of entertainment to the inauguration ceremony with a lively cultural performance with a welcome Dance. The Dean, Professor. Pathirgae Kamal Perera thanked all of the people involved in the planning and construction of the new building for all of their hard work and dedication over the successful completion of the stage one. The Dean also had a word of praise for all of the invited guests for coming to mark this momentous occasion. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Kaumadi Karunagoda, the coordinator of the program.
