Inauguration Ceremony of Certificate Course in Massage Therapy – 2023
The formal Inauguration Ceremony of Certificate Course in Massage Therapy -2023 at Faculty of Indigenous Medicine, University of Colombo was held on 20th of August 2023. With the scope of producing a massage therapist enriched with the knowledge, attitudes and skills according to the Ayurveda concepts and principles in highly demanded field of massage therapy, Department of Pharmacology, Pharmaceutics and Community Medicine, Faculty of Indigenous Medicine, University of Colombo is conducting this external course. The Postgraduate and Mid-Career Development Unit is mediating the certificate course collaborative with the respective Department based on the highly demanded areas which will keep advancing the nation’s economy.
The Dean of the Faculty, Professor Pathirage Kamal Perera headed the inauguration and Dr.Dhammika Senanayake who is the President of Nutrition Society of Sri Lanka, Medical council member of Asian Athletic Federation, Sport physician has graced the occasion as the guest of Honor and delivered a speech on “Wellness for health”. Dr.Wulakshi Anurakshitha, Knight/ The physician in attendance medical corps, Fellow in Medical and Cosmetology and Mr.L. Niransankumar Assistant Director, Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management were participated as the special guests. Coordinator, Postgraduate and Mid-Career Development Unit, Heads of the departments, course coordinator and the academic staff members of the faculty and selected students for the course, participated at this event.
