Graduation of the Postgraduate Diploma in Indigenous Orthopaedic Treatment (PGDip (IOT)
The Faculty of Indigenous Medicine of the University of Colombo, the premier seat of Indigenous medical education in the country and the highest-ranked university in Sri Lanka held its Postgraduate Convocation for 2023 on October 05th and 6th December 2024, at the Bandaranaike International Memorial Conference Hall. The ceremony was a glamorous, well-attended, and highly celebrated event which marked one of the most memorable days in the post-graduates’ lives and the parents to witness the graduation of their children as well. The Founder Dean of the Faculty of Indigenous Medicine, Prof. Pathirage Kamal Perera, and many academics from the six Departments of the Faculty of Indigenous Medicine attended this ceremony. This year’s convocation is a special occasion for the Faculty of Indigenous Medicine, University of Colombo.
This year our first batch (Year 2023) of “Postgraduate Diploma in Indigenous Orthopedic Treatments (කැඩුම් බිඳුම් වෙදකම)” candidates were graduated. This course was conducted by the Postgraduate and Mid-Career Development Unit and coordinated by the Department of Ayurveda Medicine and Indigenous Medicine of the Faculty of Indigenous Medicine, University of Colombo. We very much appreciate and thank all the resource persons, especially traditional practitioners who gave the fullest support to conduct this course successfully. This is the first time offered postgraduate degree for Indigenous Orthopedic Treatments (කැඩුම් බිඳුම් වෙදකම) in Sri Lanka.
