FACULTY SPORTS AND AESTHETIC AWARDS CEREMONY – 2024

The Faculty of Indigenous Medicine, University of Colombo,proudly celebrated its very first Faculty Sports and Aesthetic Awards Ceremonyto honor theexceptional achievements and memorable contributions which demonstrated the invaluable dedications and timely leaderships bythe students of Sports club and the Arts circle

Event Summary

The Faculty of Indigenous Medicine of the University of Colombo hosted its much-anticipated first FacultySports and Aesthetic Awarding Ceremony – 2024 on 12th of December 2024. The event, held in the Main Auditorium of the faculty,brought together the students, academic, administrative & non-academic staffand esteemed guests to celebrate the excellence in sports and arts.

The evening was begun with the arrival of the distinguished guests, with the grace of the Prof. Pathirage Kamal Perera, Dean of the Faculty of Indigenous Medicine, and Guests of Honors, Prof. H. M. Nihal Henanayake, Dr. Kapila Bandara together with both Ayurveda and Unani heads of the departments of FIM.

The ceremony officially commenced with a warm welcome by Mr. N.Shifran, President of the Sports Club, followed by a video introduction that highlighted theachievements of the students of the Sport club and the Arts Circle of FIM as well.

Prior to distributing awards, the Chief Guest and the two guests of honors graced the event by delivering their motivative addresses. Throughout the evening, awards were presented in recognition of appreciation, merit and the outstanding performances in arts and sports activities held during past few years. Notable events included the presentation of Certificates of Appreciation to dedicated members and the Dean’s Awards to individuals who demonstrated an exceptional contribution and outstanding performance showed in both Arts and Sports activities. Students of the Arts circle contributedtomultiplemind-blowing performances whichgave the audience an unforgettable experience.

Appointmentsof the new office bearers for the Sports club and Arts Circle

The Arts circle and the Sports club concluded on a high note withmuch-anticipated appointments of new members to the Arts Circle and Sports club.

The ceremony spotlighted the newly appointed team, introduced with great pride to the audience, showcasing their dedication to nurturing creativity and innovation within the university. Each member was entrusted with unique responsibilities, symbolizing their commitment to fostering a vibrant community.
