Donation of Yoga training equipment from SVCC Breath work therapy training programme

The Faculty of Indigenous Medicine (FIM), University of Colombo, has organized several events to celebrate International Yoga Day 2025 in collaboration with the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (SVCC), High Commission of India, Colombo.

A breathwork therapy training program for final professional BAMS students was organized in the Faculty of Indigenous Medicine on 20.06.2025, and this enthusiastic session was conducted by a resource person from India.

Additionally, Yoga training equipment donation, including Yoga mats and T-shirts, from SVCC to FIM was done during the event. Prof. Ankuran Dutta, director of SVCC, High Commission of India, Colombo, Prof. Pathirage Kamal Perera, dean of the FIM, Prof. Sajeewa Harapathdeniya, Head of the Department of Ayurveda Pharmacology, Pharmaceutics and Community Medicine were graced the occasion. Prof. Kaumadi Karunagoda, faculty coordinator for the International Center at the University of Colombo, has organized this event.
