Celebration of World Children’s Day – 2025
A productive and colorful program for celebrating of World Children’s Day – 2025 was held at the Professorial Unit – Kaumarabhritya, (Pediatric ward- No. 01) of National Ayurvedic Teaching Hospital, Rajagiriya on 1st of October 2025 from 8.30 am to 12.30 pm for the OPD & IPD child patients. It was organized by the Department of Shalya Shalakya and Prasuti Tantra Kaumarabhritya in collaboration with the department of Moalejat, Faculty of Indigenous Medicine with the guidance and support of the Dean and the head of the Department, with the collaboration of Doctors, Staff, and intern medical officers of Bala Roga Ward (01) of National Ayurveda Teaching Hospital with the active participation of BAMS & BUMS final Professional students of FIM and also with the presence of the Director and other staff members of the hospital.
Many Mindfulness and Stress Relieving events such as Talent show of IPD and OPD patients, Performance of some activities (short drama, songs, dances and health awareness) have been conducted for the child patients, mothers of the patients by the undergraduates of the faculty. Further, breakfast, lunch and valuable gifts were also offered for them by well-wishers.
Par with this celebration, educational and artistic wall paintings were done by undergraduates of the faculty and intern medical officers of the ward. A mindfulness program for mothers of the indoor patients was successfully conducted prior to this event by Senior Lecturers of the faculty attached to the prof unit; Dr. WASS Weerakoon, Dr. IAM Leena, Dr. OTMRKSB Kalawana and Dr. Fazlool Haq who coordinated this program.
