Since establishment of IIM in 1929, it has produced number of Ayurveda and Unani medical practitioners to serve the citizens of this country. Trends in technology and globalization have fundamentally altered the demand of the Ayurveda and Unani medical practitioners; it is the need to produce competent traditional health professional who competent to meet the global requirements. In order to impart effective medical education, one of the methods is to establish professorial unit in the teaching hospital where under graduate and post graduate medical students can be provided programmed, structured clinical training.
