Acupuncture as a distinct therapeutic system which is recognized by law in 12 EU Member States, ie Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Portugal, Slovenia and Spain. It has being noticed the physicians qualified in Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani and Sri Lankan traditional medicine field are incorporating this method to their clinical practice. Certain education institutions conduct coursers for Acupuncture which may needed more standards and moderation. As a faculty of leading government University in Sri Lanka, we consider it is as our duty to empower over own alumina and other medical practitioners with correct and updated knowledge.

Ayurveda is a holistic science that acknowledges the body-mind correlation. Ayurvedic psychology focus on prevention, gentle intervention and do not stigmatize mental health.
