
1st Runner Up in the Code Red – Inter Faculty Disaster Preparedness Quiz Competition
A total of six participants from the Bachelor Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS) 2019/2020 batch, representing two teams from the Faculty of Indigenous Medicine, took part in the “Code Red – Inter Faculty Disaster Preparedness Quiz,” organized by the Core Group for Disaster Relief, Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo, in collaboration with ADRiMP. The competition was held on 7th February 2026 from 1.00 p.m. onward at the UCFM Tower, Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo. Out of the two teams, the team named “Rescue Minds” achieved the First Runner-Up position, bringing great recognition to the faculty.
The competition featured eight teams in total, including four teams from the Faculty of Medicine, one from the Faculty of Technology, one from the Faculty of Management and Finance, and two teams from the Faculty of Indigenous Medicine. The successful team competed through multiple rounds as follows:
– Quarter Final: FIM 1 vs FIM 2
– Semi Final: FIM 1 vs FOM 1
– Grand Finale: FIM 1 vs FOM 2
The First Runner-Up team comprised the following students:

– AA Atheeka — 2019/U/1102
They demonstrated outstanding knowledge, teamwork, and dedication throughout the competition. Their remarkable performance marks a significant milestone for the Faculty of Indigenous Medicine and reflects the academic excellence, commitment, and competitive spirit of our students.
