About Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka, ‘Serendib’ earlier called as Ceylon is a beautiful island popularly known as “Pearl of the Indian Ocean.” Its commercial capital is Colombo, the largest city located in the west coast of the island. It is a busy and vibrant city with a mixture of sky scrapers and colonial buildings with active citizen of modern life around 650000.
About Faculty of Indigenous Medicine
The Indigenous systems of medicine consisting of Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha and Traditional systems of Medicine have been rendering immense contribution towards the healthcare of Sri Lankans since ancient time. Uprising of nationalistic movement during the early part of the 20th century lead to the institutionalization of the indigenous system of medicine on 10th June, 1929 as the Swadeshiya Ayurveda Vaidya Vidyalaya. This institution was affiliated to the University of Colombo in 1977 and it has been gazetted as Faculty of Indigenous Medicine on 01st of March 2023 by the government of Sri Lanka. It is situated at Rajagiriya, Sri Jayawardhanepura Kotte, Colombo. The FIM is proud to produce annually around 250 graduates of Ayurveda and Unani medicine and around 50 postgraduates to the national health stream.
About Department of Ayurveda- Conference Co-organizer
Department of Ayurveda affords a high-quality public health service system of Ayurveda and Traditional medicine by educating the community on benefits and effectiveness. It is the Sri Lankan governing body that functions to preserve the systems of Traditional, Indigenous medicine and Ayurveda by keeping their identity. The Department of Ayurveda take national and international measures for the development of these systems while integrating them into the mainstream of healthcare. It is believed that the promotion of traditional systems of medicine can play an important role in sustainable development by encouraging the use of natural resources and reducing the environmental impact of modern medical practices. Further, their visionary thinking extends to maintain guidelines and standards for the practice of Ayurveda and Traditional Indigenous Medicine while enhancing research and development culture.

About the Conference
We extend our cordial invitation to participate in the “9th International Conference on Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha and Traditional Medicine and Triphala International Research Symposium AyurEx Colombo-2023” organized by the Faculty of Indigenous Medicine (FIM), University of Colombo, Sri Lanka and Department of Ayurveda, Ministry of Health, Sri Lanka from 08th to 10th September 2023. The aim of the conference is to provide a scientific platform to eminent researchers, academicians, physicians, traditional and medical practitioners, manufacturers and exporters of Ayurveda and herbal products, members of the corporate sector, agriculture sector and stake holders from all over the world to disseminate the traditional knowledge in order to address the major global health issues.
The conference will provide an overview of the traditional knowledge on Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha and other Traditional Medicinal approaches including practical strategies for incorporating evidence based modalities into clinical practice, practices used in the prevention, management and treatment of illnesses, suggestions and recommendations for management of specific conditions, tools to evaluate the recent research findings and novel ethno-medicinal reviews on traditional claims, etc.
Instructions for submitting abstracts
Abstracts of the paper in any of the following themes should be data oriented with reflecting major findings of the research study. Theoretical statements should be avoided in the abstract. The abstract should not contain more than 300 words in IMRAD format and is to be typed in MS Word, Times New Roman, Font 11 and space 1.5. The abstract should be sent to icaust@fim.cmb.ac.lk as an attachment.

Scientific sessions are conducted under the enlisted sub themes and are comprised together with plenary lectures by invited speakers and, oral presentations/ e-poster presentations by selected individuals. Authors are invited to submit abstracts on following themes:
